FACULTY OF

PSYCHOLOGY

THE DEAN’S REMARKS
In a faculty with a mono-disciplinary study like Psychology, its core development has to be vertical in nature, whereby the discipline should be offered at all levels of higher education—from undergraduate degree to post-graduate degree."

In line with such criteria, Faculty of Psychology eventually opened its Doctoral Program during its 25th anniversary. Moreover, this seventh faculty of Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia does not only offer undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs but also offers a profession program.

Focusing on contextual psychology that is relevant to the multicultural mileage of Indonesian society and its adaptability to the constant changes stemming from the direct contact with foreign cultures, Faculty of Psychology is committed to improving its academic quality and attaining international recognitions.

For this reason, the faculty strives to provide stimulating learning experience by developing labs that are based on virtual reality and augmented reality. The presence of this technology allows a better visualization of abstract concepts that are not always evident when observed with the sensing organs (e.g., thinking process); accordingly, such concepts will be more concrete and observable while they are also integrated into the bio-physiological processes. With this approach, it is hoped that the graduates can have a solid mastery of theories as well as their applications, allowing them to fit into the marketplace much more easily.
