The research areas in the Doctor of Psychology of Atma Jaya are heavily oriented towards the perspectives from Indonesian socio-cultural contexts. Focusing on comprehensive exploration of human behaviors in Indonesia, the program has demonstrated its competitiveness at both national and international levels. These research areas include:
Social and Cultural Psychology (National Identity)
Some of the topics explored in this research area include family resilience and child protection, culture and leadership, cultural diversity in organizations, conflict resolution at micro- or meso-levels, entrepreneurial behaviors, identity, and social cohesion.
SDGs Themes (Human and Development)
Some of the topics explored in this research area include psychology and public policy, life quality, stigma of discrimination and marginalization, conflict resolution, human rights, access to equality, and various intervention measures to empower the society.

Mission
• To provide Doctor of Psychology education with contextual inter-, multi- and trans-disciplinary approaches in order to produce graduates who have a sense of respect towards human equality in line with the advancement of science in a free but ethical academic context
• To conduct further research using the proper methodologies, which is meaningful and reflective of the Indonesian community’s needs in relation to the issues of diversity, equality and inclusion, and to publish the research
• To devote skills and applications of psychology to the betterment of human resources and psychological well-being in Indonesia and the world
• To manage the program with credibility, accountability, transparency, fairness and responsibility as a measure of quality assurance in order to create a conducive academic environment that can support the realization of the University Tri-Dharma values in an effective and efficient manner
• To build an international networking to improve the academic reputation in the areas of education, research, and community service as part of the larger scientific society at the global scale.
