"Welcome to the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FMHS) of Atma Jaya Catholic University, an academic institution committed to producing highly competent, ethical, and globally competitive healthcare professionals."

The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FMHS) of Atma Jaya Catholic University currently offers a diverse range of academic programs designed to address the evolving needs of the health sciences field. These include the Undergraduate Medical Program, Medical Doctor Professional Program, Pharmacy Program, Pharmacist Professional Program, Master’s Program in Biomedical Sciences, Specialist Program in Family Medicine (Primary Care), Specialist Program in Sports Medicine, and Specialist Program in Internal Medicine. In addition, FMHS continues to expand by opening various specialist programs relevant to the needs of society and the modern healthcare landscape.

The Medical Doctor Professional Program at Atma Jaya has consistently demonstrated a high national competency examination pass rate and is recognized as one of the leading programs in Indonesia. This achievement reflects our strong commitment to maintaining educational quality, strengthening clinical competencies, and fostering outstanding professional character.

At FMHS Atma Jaya, students are not only educated to become academically competent physicians and healthcare professionals but are also prepared to actively contribute to health promotion, disease prevention, the improvement of community well-being, as well as the advancement of science through research and innovation. Our strengths in geriatrics, healthy aging, communicable and non-communicable diseases, and personalized medicine constitute key academic identities that we continuously develop.

To support a comprehensive learning process, FMHS provides various state-of-the-art facilities, including an Integrated Biomedical Laboratory, Computer Laboratory, Clinical Skills Laboratory, Anatomy Museum, Educational Pharmacy, as well as the Atma Jaya Teaching Hospital and its network of affiliated hospitals. These facilities are designed to ensure that students gain robust, practical, and up-to-date learning experiences aligned with the latest developments in health sciences.

Through high-quality educational processes, strong institutional support, and an academic environment grounded in Christian values—Excellence, Professionalism, and Compassion—FMHS Atma Jaya remains committed to producing outstanding graduates who contribute meaningfully to the nation, particularly in improving public health outcomes.

ABOUT THE FACULTY


School of Medicine (FK) of Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia was founded in 1967 and opened its first classes in 1968. After a year, in 1969, FK Unika Atma Jaya was registered and approved by the Department of Education and Culture, which was in concert with the construction of permanent buildings to support the learning activities. One of the supporting facilities, Atma Jaya Hospital, was used as part of the facility for clinical education for doctors in 1976.

As of the academic year 1991/1992, all of the learning and teaching activities have been conducted in the Pluit Campus, which is located in the same area as Atma Jaya Hospital. The Pharmacy Study Program was established in 2017. Given the development of the medical sciences, particularly in the rapidly growing field of biomedicine, FKIK Unika Atma Jaya decided to renovate and later build an integrated laboratory in Damianus Building, which was officially opened in 2019—after which in the mid-2020, it also founded its Master of Biomedical Science Study Program.

Vision

To become a School of Medicine and Health Sciences that has academic and professional excellence at the national and international levels in the field of medical science and urban health in 2027 based on Christian values and Indonesian culture.

 

Mission

1.   Organizing the tridarma of higher education in the field of medicine and urban health based on Christian values, superior, professional, and caring, to educate the nation's life and improve social welfare.

2.   Managing higher education in medicine and health in a transparent, accountable, responsible, independent, and fair manner.

 

Objectives

1.   To produce medical and health graduates who are ethical, Christian, excellent, professional, and caring

2.  Produce scientific and research works in the field of medicine and health that are published in regional and international medical and health magazines, and uphold IPR.                                                          

3.   Produce useful community service activities.                           

4.   Developing cooperation with other institutions at home and abroad in the field of the tridarma of higher education.

Then Suyanti is a medical doctor and public health official. She currently serves as Director of Environmental Health at the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia. She has experience in healthcare management, including serving as Head of the Bangka District Health Office. She completed her medical professional education at Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia.

Director of Corporate Relations - PT Etana Biotechnologies Indonesia

Andreas Donny Prakasa is a professional in pharmacy and biotechnology. He currently serves as Director of Corporate Relations at PT Etana Biotechnologies Indonesia. He has experience in the pharmaceutical industry as well as within Indonesian Food and Drug Authority, particularly in inspection, regulation, and biological product oversight. He earned his Master’s degree in Medical Biotechnology from Wageningen University and Research, Netherlands.
