The appointment ceremony was held at Aula D UNIKA Atma Jaya at 9am, being attended by Head of Atma Jaya Foundation, Ms. Claudia Wiwiek Dianawati, and Rector of UNIKA Atma Jaya, Dr. Agustinus Prasetyantoko.

In her oration, Dr. Shanti stated that Faculty of Psychology has many potentials as lecturers have been developing their academic potentials and being practitioners in the workfield. This, makes them reluctant though in taking structural positions within the Faculty. Thereby, to facilitate the needs of communities and the required service to society as lecturers, Faculty of Psychology will make Academic Encamp program. This will help maintaining better relationships with collaborative partners for every Faculty events.

From students’ point of view, Faculty of Psychology has 1359 undergraduate students, and 114 post-graduate students. These numbers show how the work field and society trust Faculty of Psychology educational system, in which it is the duty of the Faculty to maintain good relationships with its alumni, ensuring its curriculum and learning to be up to date and as the answer to the needs of the people. Having psychological education unit is one way to keep continuation of undergraduate curriculum with Masters and Doctoral curriculums, by harmonizing learning with technology. Dr.  Shanti expressed her wishes for all the students of the Faculty of Psychology to embrace and fully develop not only their academic potentials but also their organizational skills as being in organizations would help their self-development. Besides various student organizations, Faculty of Psychology also has many opportunities for its students to develop themselves, to broaden their horizons, and to deepen their knowledge, for example by providing student exchange program, also field trips to get in touch with the needs of the people and work field.  As such, students are encouraged to use these field experiences well, to learn how to work together with their peers, as by interacting with friends we can get to know ourselves, as we get to know our friends, we can get to know our own purpose.

Dr. Shanti stated that her Appointment Event was not only a formal officiation event but as the Rector mentioned in his speech earlier, there was a spiritual aspect to this as when we work, we do not only work based on organizational perspectives but our work should be based by the needs of the people and the organization as we have accountability to the Divine, or the Almighty God. In remembering this, then all that we do shold be done as our act of service to God.
