Overview

Kolej Universiti Poly-Tech MARA (KUPTM) Kuala Lumpur, now officially known as Universiti Poly-Tech Malaysia (UPTM), is a private higher education institution in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Originally established as Kolej Yayasan Pelajaran MARA and later rebranded as Kolej Poly-Tech MARA (KPTM), the Kuala Lumpur campus was upgraded to university college status in 2015 and subsequently recognized as a full university in 2022. It is managed by Kolej Poly-Tech MARA Sdn. Bhd., a subsidiary of the Malaysian development agency Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA), and forms part of MARA’s network of educational institutions aimed at producing skilled graduates and professionals.

UPTM offers a range of academic pathways including foundation, diploma, bachelor’s, postgraduate, and professional programs across a variety of fields such as business, technology, education, communication, and computing. It also maintains partnerships with local and international institutions, reflecting its mission to prepare graduates for both domestic and global industries.

The academic year at UPTM is divided into two semesters:

Spring Semester:

1. Nomination and Application Deadline: October - December

2. Semester Start: Early March

3. Semester End: Late June - Early July

Fall Semester:

1. Nomination and Application Deadline: April - June

2. Semester Start: Early September

3. Semester End: Late December - Early January

Orientation for international students is conducted a week before each semester, covering essential topics such as course registration, cultural adaptation, and campus facilities.
