Thaksin University




Overview

Thaksin University is one of the first higher education institutions in the southern region. It was established after the establishment of the College of Education under the Ministry of Education to replace the Higher Teacher Training School on Prasanmit Road, Phra Khanong District, Phra Nakhon Province in 1954 to develop modern educational philosophy and concepts in line with and align with democratic society, including the development of education as a systematic and profound profession in Thai society, along with conferring degrees in education. The College of Education has developed and progressed gradually, along with the expansion of education to various regions of the country. It is administered on a multi-campus basis, consisting of Pathumwan Campus (1955), Bangsaen Campus, Chonburi Province (1955), Phitsanulok Campus (1967), Mahasarakham Campus (1968), Songkhla Campus (1968), Phra Nakhon Campus (1969), and Physical Education Campus. (B.E. 2513) with Prasarnmit Campus as the administrative center.
