Overview

Shu-Te University (STU) is a private university located in Yanchao District, Kaohsiung City, Taiwan. It was originally established as Shu-Te Institute of Technology in 1994 and later renamed Shu-Te University after receiving accreditation from Taiwan’s Ministry of Education in 2000, embracing its motto “Academic, Intellectual, Happy, Hopeful.” The university champions a student-centered, multidisciplinary, integrated learning environment that aims to balance theoretical knowledge with practical skills and character development. 


Shu-Te University comprises multiple colleges, including the College of Engineering, College of Design, College of Management, College of Humanities and Social Sciences, and College of Health Sciences. Shu-Te University offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs tailored to today’s industry and societal needs. It promotes industry collaborations, creative innovation, and applied learning experiences to prepare graduates for the challenges of the modern workforce.

Academic Calendars

The academic year at Shu-Te University is divided into two semesters:

Spring Semester:

  1. Nomination and Application Deadline: October - December

  2. Semester Start: Early March

  3. Semester End: Late June - Early July

Fall Semester:

  1. Nomination and Application Deadline: April - June

  2. Semester Start: Early September

  3. Semester End: Late December - Early January

Orientation for international students is conducted a week before each semester, covering essential topics such as course registration, cultural adaptation, and campus facilities.
