Passage to ASEAN (P2A) 2025: Faculty of Psychology Immersion in the Philippines

Philippines, 27-31 October 2025 – Nine psychology students from Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia (AJCUI), accompanied by faculty members and International Office staff, participated in the Passage to ASEAN (P2A) Immersion Program hosted by Rizal Technological University (RTU), with support from EARIST, Bulacan State University (BulSU), and World Citi Colleges (WCC). The five-day program offered a rich academic and intercultural learning environment. Students attended joint lectures and classroom exchanges focused on psychological concepts within Southeast Asian contexts, allowing them to compare theoretical frameworks and share case studies from Indonesia. Cultural immersion activities—including workshops, performances, and campus interactions—helped students better understand Filipino culture and strengthen interpersonal connections.

One of the program’s highlights was the research-sharing session, where Master’s students from AJCUI presented preliminary thesis ideas and received constructive feedback from Filipino faculty and peers. This activity encouraged dialogue on research methodology and strengthened students’ confidence in developing regionally relevant psychological studies. Beyond academics, students participated in community engagement activities designed to enhance empathy, adaptability, and cross-cultural communication. The program concluded with a closing ceremony that celebrated the friendships formed and renewed commitment to regional academic collaboration. (RBA)
