Overview

National Kaohsiung First University of Science and Technology (NKFUST) was a public university of science and technology located in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. In 2018, NKFUST merged with the National Kaohsiung University of Applied Sciences and the National Kaohsiung Marine University to form the National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology (NKUST), known as the largest science and technology university in southern Taiwan, with multiple campuses and a broad range of academic disciplines. This institution focuses on technological innovation, practical skills, and close industry linkages, providing students with applied learning opportunities and research experiences in engineering, business, foreign languages, and more. 

NKUST supports a large student community and diverse academic structure across colleges including engineering, management, electrical engineering and computer science, finance and banking, and foreign languages. Its programs emphasize strong industry-academy collaboration, real-world training, and global exposure, helping prepare graduates for careers in both domestic and international contexts.

The academic year at NKUST is divided into two semesters:

Spring Semester:

3. Semester End: Late June - Early July

Fall Semester:

1. Nomination and Application Deadline: April - June

2. Semester Start: Early September

3. Semester End: Late December - Early January

Orientation for international students is conducted a week before each semester, covering essential topics such as course registration, cultural adaptation, and campus facilities.
