Jakarta, 7 October 2025 — Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia (AJCUI) had the pleasure of welcoming a distinguished delegation from Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC) to the School of Medicine and Health Sciences (SMHS) at the Pluit Campus. The visit marked another significant milestone in the collaboration supporting the Half Minor Program, an initiative designed to enhance academic and professional exchange between Indonesia and the Netherlands. The meeting opened at the Lukas Building, 5th Floor, where the SMHS Dean delivered welcoming remarks and emphasized the importance of long-term collaboration in medical education. This was followed by a series of short presentations beginning with Mr. Adre Zaif Rachman, who introduced the structure and mission of AJCUI’s International Office. Dr. Soegianto Ali then presented an institutional overview of SMHS, highlighting recent research developments and academic priorities. Dr. Maria Kaisar continued with updates on ongoing collaborations between AJCUI and LUMC, underscoring the growing opportunities for mobility and joint research.
The LUMC delegation consisted of Prof. dr. Alexandra Langers, Guido de Wilde, Prof. dr. Marc Bruijnzeels, Dr. Martijn Sijbom, Dr. Yvonne Drewes, and Mr. Afwan Afwandi. Each representative shared perspectives on LUMC’s global education strategies, interdisciplinary research strengths, and vision for deeper engagement with AJCUI. The visit concluded with a laboratory tour and observation of Half Minor student activities, providing firsthand insight into the program’s academic environment. Productive discussions and the warm exchange of ideas reaffirmed the shared commitment between AJCUI and LUMC to expand academic mobility and develop future-ready health professionals. (RBA)
