A Meaningful Exchange: KAAD Leaders Visit Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia

Jakarta, 23 October 2025 — Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia (AJCUI) had the honor of hosting a high-level delegation from the Katholischer Akademischer Ausländer-Dienst (KAAD), Germany’s Catholic Academic Exchange Service. The delegation, led by P. Dr. Hans Langendörfer, SJ, President of KAAD, also included Dr. Nora Kalbarczyk (Secretary General), Dr. Anselm Feldmann (Head of the Asia Department), and Ms. Julia Breker (Desk Officer, Asia Department). The visit began with a brief Mass in AJCUI’s chapel, allowing the guests to experience the spiritual atmosphere of the campus and marking a warm and reflective start to the program. This was followed by a lunch and discussion session at the Rectorate Meeting Room, Semanggi Campus, where KAAD scholarship alumni and representatives from various faculties gathered to share their academic journeys and international experiences.

Conversations explored a range of topics, including ongoing KAAD scholarship programs, academic capacity development, and opportunities for strengthening collaboration in the coming years. Faculty members highlighted the impact that KAAD support has had on their research and professional growth, while the delegates reaffirmed KAAD’s commitment to fostering ethical leadership, intercultural dialogue, and academic excellence.
