Atma Jaya's Visit to the Embassy of Guatemala for the Holy Week Photo Exhibition

Jakarta, April 25, 2025 – Expanding the opportunity to international culture, International Office of Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia (AJCUI) attended the Embassy of Guatemala for Photo Exhibition showcasing the Holy Week in Guatemala. On 25th of April, the Photo Exhibition takes place at the World Trade Center, South Jakarta, with Abdullah Fachrurrazy as the guide from the Embassy to lead us inside the office of Embassy.

The Photo Exhibition brought excitement and wonders for the students, as the media player portrayed sides of how the Holy Week in Guatemala arranged. Followed by QnA session, the students shows enthusiasm and curiosity related to the Holy Week including their clothes, the caskets, flowers, and so much more; which returned with detailed answer from Emilio Recinos, the First Secretary of Embassy, as the representative for of the Embassy of Guatemala.

Afterwards, the students were guided to view the gallery, where it captured the Holy Week, and many churches in Guatemala to an everlasting image, provided with their origins and description. The students discussed about how their culture and traditions similarities and difference to the Holy Week, and how fascinating to learn about new culture. The Photo Exhibition was explained with great details and enjoyable flow.

As a farewell present, the students were handed with traditional toy in Guatemala. It made a sound akin to revving engine by spinning, and the students were pleasantly surprised by the gift, as they discovered a new way to play. The exhibition was one of many ways to create an open window and to introduce many cultures ahead, The International Office looked forward for new opportunities and many more students to participate in this exciting journey the future.
