Futurepreneurs in Action: The 5th Atma Jaya Business and Innovation Expo (ABIEX) 2025

Jakarta, June 12-13; 16, 2025 – The spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship came to life once again at the 5th Atma Jaya Business and Innovation Expo (ABIEX), hosted by the Atma Jaya Business Incubator (AJIB) of Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia. This year’s ABIEX carried the theme “Futurepreneurs: Innovation, Technology, and Sustainable Business,” and was held over three days—June 12–13 at the Semanggi Campus, followed by a closing program on June 16 at the BSD Campus. In her opening remarks, Dr. Devi Angrahini Anni Lembana, S.E., M.M., Ph.D., Head of AJIB, expressed her appreciation for the collaborative spirit behind this year’s event, emphasized how ABIEX is not only a stage for student innovation but also a bridge connecting universities across borders, through the ongoing partnership with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM).

Representing UTM, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Syed Norris Hikmi Bin Syed Abdullah delivered a powerful keynote that set the tone for the event. He reminded participants that entrepreneurship is not merely about launching a product or company—it is about creating real impact for people and communities. The event continued with engaging activities including the Techventure Challenge, Cross-Cultural Learning, and several key competitions: the Business Plan Competition, Poster Competition, and Booth Competition. These provided all participants, both local and international, with a chance to share, compete, and receive feedback on their innovative ideas. With prizes awarded for categories such as Best Prototype, Best Poster, Best SDG Idea, and Best Presenter, ABIEX 2025 didn’t just celebrate business—it celebrated purpose, process, and people. Winners walked away with more than just trophies; they gained invaluable experience, mentorship, and a renewed drive to pursue entrepreneurship beyond the campus gates. (RBA)
