Jakarta, April 16, 2025 – In a shared commitment to shape a more inclusive and sustainable city, Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia (AJCUI) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta at Balai Agung, Jakarta City Hall. The signing ceremony was attended by Vice Governor of DKI Jakarta, Rano Karno, along with university rectors and institutional leaders. The MoU reflects a collaborative spirit between the city and seven private universities, including AJCUI, to support Jakarta’s development through the pillars of higher education: education, research, and community service (Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi).
Representing Atma Jaya, Rector Prof. Dr. dr. Yuda Turana, Sp.S(K) expressed that the collaboration reflects the university’s mission to apply academic excellence in service of inclusive, sustainable growth. “This partnership is a concrete expression of Atma Jaya’s commitment to advancing Jakarta through innovation rooted in research, guided by human values, and focused on creating an inclusive city for all,” Prof. Yuda stated. Through this partnership, AJCUI will collaborate with various departments and agencies under the Jakarta provincial government in the areas of internship placements, policy-oriented research, urban health and education programs, and community-based initiatives across Jakarta’s diverse neighborhoods. This collaboration also marks part of Jakarta’s preparations toward its 500th anniversary in 2027, with the goal of becoming a globally respected city that upholds the principles of inclusivity and innovation.
