Overview
Established in the 1960 as technical and engineering institutes, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang have developed into major national research institutions specializing in engineering, science, technology, and applied innovation, with expanded offerings in areas such as architecture, information technology, and agriculture. As one of the top and largest universities in science and technology in Thailand, KMITL accommodates more than 18,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students altogether in all Faculties. The numbers of students have increased each year with the highest figure of the Faculty of Engineering.
Presently, King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang consists of 7 Faculties with the aims to produce qualified graduates at bachelor's, master's and doctor's degree levels, to advance research and development in science and technology for the industrial and economic development of Thailand, and to implant students’ mindset with morality and virtuousness under the philosophy of ‘morality ahead of knowledge’.

The academic year at King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang is divided into two semesters:

Orientation for international students is conducted a week before each semester, covering essential topics such as course registration, cultural adaptation, and campus facilities.
