ABOUT DOCTOR OF APPLIED ENGLISH LINGUISTICS STUDY PROGRAM

Vision

To become the center of excellence in education of Doctor of Applied English Linguistics discipline at both national and international levels by integrating the values of Christianity, science and technology and Indonesian culture in efforts to educate the nation.

Misi

• To provide education of doctor of applied English linguistics which is aware of the development and trends of science and technology as well as the needs of the community

• To conduct basic and applied research independently or collaboratively in inter-, multi- or trans-disciplinary contexts, grounded on the culture of the Indonesian community

• To devote knowledge and skills in the field of applied English linguistics to empower the community

• To establish partnerships with other institutions at both national and international levels to enhance the institutional capacity and boost the activities supporting Tri Dharma

Objective

• To produce educators/teachers with qualified competence and profound expertise who can analyze and solve problems related to applied English linguistics

• To produce researchers who can demonstrate exemplary competence in conducting research in the discipline of linguistics or language teachings and can disseminate their findings through journal publications or academic conference/seminar presentations at both national and international levels.

The program has provided me with a comprehensive theoretical foundation in applied linguistics and research experiences in analysing the essence of language and language learning, how language is used to create our sociocultural environments, and how, in diverse learning settings, we gain knowledge to use language and understand the world through language.
