The Faculty of Biosciences, Technology, and Innovation (FBTI) of Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia was officially established on January 1, 2025, through the merger of the Faculty of Engineering, which was founded on July 1, 1961, and the Faculty of Technobiology, which was established on April 3, 2002.
At the undergraduate level, the first study program established in 1961 was Mechanical Engineering, followed by the establishment of the Electrical Engineering Study Program in 1979. Subsequently, the Industrial Engineering Study Program was founded in 1999. In 2002, the Biology Study Program was established and later renamed the Biotechnology Study Program, becoming the first undergraduate Biotechnology Study Program in Indonesia. The Food Technology Study Program was established in 2014, followed by the establishment of the Information Systems Study Program in 2017. FBTI of Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia also offers graduate programs, including the Master’s Programs in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biotechnology, as well as the Professional Engineer Program.
Since 2017, FBTI has conducted academic activities across two campuses. Campus I Semanggi accommodates the Master’s Programs in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biotechnology, the Professional Engineer Program, as well as the undergraduate programs in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical Engineering. Campus 3 of Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia in BSD is designated for all undergraduate programs, including Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Biotechnology, Food Technology, and Information Systems.

Raymond R. Tjandrawinata is an academic and practitioner in the field of biosciences. He currently serves as Executive Director of Dexa Laboratories of Biomolecular Sciences. He has over two decades of experience in research, regulation, and pharmaceutical industry development. He completed his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of California, Riverside.

Pavinee Chinachoti is an expert in food science and technology. She currently serves as President Elect of the International Union of Food Science and Technology and Chair of the Food Innovation-Regulation Network (FIRN), Thailand. She has extensive experience in food research, including food preservation and functional food. She completed her studies in Food Science at the University of Illinois, USA.

Adhi Lukman is a prominent figure in Indonesia’s food industry. He currently serves as Chairman of GAPMMI and CEO of PT Niramas Utama (INACO). He has extensive experience in food industry development and policy at both national and international levels. He completed his studies in Food Technology at IPB University.
Hyung Kwoun Kim is an academic in biotechnology. He currently serves as Professor in the Department of Biotechnology at The Catholic University of Korea. He has experience in enzyme research, microbiology, and industrial biotechnology. He completed his Ph.D. at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST).

Yun-Chia Liang is an academic in industrial engineering and systems management. He currently serves as Chief of the Global Affairs Office and Professor at Yuan Ze University. He has extensive experience in supply chain, artificial intelligence, and production systems research. He completed his Ph.D. at Auburn University, USA.
Kustiawan Kusumo is a professional in the information technology industry. He currently serves as Country Managing Director at PT Krayon Konsultan Indonesia. He has over 30 years of experience in business strategy, sales leadership, and market development in global companies. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia.

Irianto Santoso is an executive in the manufacturing and automotive sector. He currently serves as President Director of PT Dharma Polimetal Tbk and CEO of Dharma Group. He has extensive experience in operations, production, and industrial management. He completed his Master’s degree in Management from Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia.

Felix Winarta Prasetio is a marketing professional. He currently serves as Marketing Director at PT Unilever Indonesia Tbk. He has over a decade of experience in brand management, business strategy, and category growth in the FMCG industry. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia.
