Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia Aims to Improve International Office through ATU-Net International Staff Week 2023





Jakarta, June 12th - 15th, 2023 - Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia (AJCUI) hosted ATU-Net International Staff Week 2023 (ATU-Net ISW2023) together with ATU-Net Steering Committee 2023 on June 12th - 15th, 2023. This meeting was the very first ATU Net Steering Committee held physically. The main theme of ATU- Net ISW2023 was “International Office 2.0: From Support to Initiator", which stressed on revolutionizing the function of International Office in the Discussion in ATU-Net Steering Committee 2023 between 19 institutions.

The event started on Monday (12/6) with ATU-Net Steering Committee 2023 at the 15th floor Yustinus Building. There are total of 19 institution members joining this program from 6  countries, namely Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei, Japan, Philippines, and Vietnam. The discussion raised on the meeting including matters and issues arising in the universities and also about the future planning of ATU-Net. In ATU-Net Steering Committee, there were also official welcome for Northwest Samar State University (NwSSU) & University of Eastern Philippines (UEP) as the new member of ATU-Net.

Expanding Knowledge and Network in ATU-Net ISW 2023 The ATU-Net ISW2023 began on Tuesday (13/6), and on the first two days there were so many topics presented and discussed between each members. There are important topics brought by members of ATU-Net, for example about International Mobility and Recruitment by Dr. Ain Naadia Mazian from ATU-Net Coordinator, and about University Rankings by Dr. Diah Wihardini from BINUS University. There were also open discussions with other members for the topics related with the International Office, including International Student Support and International Network, There are more than 30 participants in ATU-Net ISW 2023 from a total of 23 universities excluding AJCUI as the host themselves in this event. AJCUI also invited participants in the campus tour, on Semanggi Campus (on 13/6) led by student staffs and on BSD campus (on 15/6).

On the third and final day of ATU-Net ISW2023, Faculty of Engineering from AJCUI welcomed the participants to the BSD Campus. During the tour, participants were brought to visit the labs at the campus, experiencing modern- contemporary facilities and equipment ranging from engineering labs to biotechnology labs and hospitality. They also opened discussion about potential collaboration in the future with AJCUI. The participants were then brought to a restaurant which served authentic Indonesian delicacies for a farewell lunch before heading to Kota Tua, Jakarta for a sightseeing around the city.
