With how relevant economic value and finance are in world nowadays, some people, if not most of them, are moving towards business and management industry. But, with the new type of job called “quantitative finance industry” slowly become more known by people, some universities, including Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia, realized the importance of introduction regarding said job.

Therefore, on April 11^th, 2019, Atma Jaya Catholic University together with WorldQuant Virtual Research Center (VRC) held a Quantitative Finance Workshop. The workshop aimed to bring attention and interest of students to interact, discuss, and understanding approach to quant finance. The basis of quantitative finance itself, which including mathematic and big data to analyze market and its safety, makes quantitative finance flexible in usage.

Not only that about quantitative finance, Mr. Aviral Srivastava, the Business Development Lead from WorldQuant and the speaker of the workshop, talked about WorldQuant VRC, about International Quant Championship, and about how to become a successful quant in global financial markets. The workshop went well with the enthusiasm from students to prepare themselves for the future, considering that WorldQuant planned to make a branch in Indonesia.
