CALL FOR PAPERS/PARTICIPANTS
4th ICCOMAC – 2017
International Conference on Corporate and Marketing Communication
“Sustaining Credibility in Today’s Everchanging World”
Background
Based on the call to action by the United Nation’s Global Compact, corporate sustainability is imperative for business today – essential to long-term corporate success and for ensuring that markets deliver value across society. To be sustainable, companies must do five things:
In short, they must operate responsibly in alignment with universal principles and take actions that support the society around them. Then, to push sustainability deep into the corporate DNA, companies must commit at the highest level, report annually on their efforts, and engage locally where they have a presence.
Clearly, sustainable corporation develop, nurture, and encourage integrity. They establish a corporate culture that is the foundation for building, maintaining, and, if need be, repairing their corporate reputation.
How would this relate to communication? To be able to convey, and even perhaps showcase, their efforts to sustain presence, organizations must engage within its internal sphere – employees, its customers and partners, and the communities in which it resides and operate. The task is not easy. As stated, leadership commitment and action that walks the talk is coherent to manage sustainability.
