JOB VACANCIES: ACICIS PROGRAM ASSISTANT

A few positions have become available within The Australian Consortium for ‘In-Country’ Indonesian Studies (ACICIS) for the Jakarta and Yogyakarta Offices for a Program Assistant (PA). This position would suit a graduate of a local or Australian university. Position Description

This is a position who would suit a graduate of an Indonesian or Australian university. The PA will mainly be assisting the ACICIS Program Coordinator/ Manager. The PA reports directly to the Program Coordinator (PC), and then the Program Manager (PM). Duties to be performed by the PA include, but are not limited to:

  1. The planning of program events including orientation, excursions and other activities as directed by the PC, PM and/ or Resident Director (RD);
  2. Assist the Program Coordinator (PC) in managing program administrative materials and logistics needed for the pre-departure phase and implementation of programs;
  3. Assist the Perth Secretariat in securing all required immigration documents from students for in-country study in Indonesia;
  4. Serving as a liaison with partner universities, schools, hotels and other stakeholders and maintaining sound relationships with key personnel at these institutions;
  5. Assisting the PC in program logistics such as booking accommodation, transportation and meals for ACICIS program;
  6. Actively mentoring all students on matters pertaining to their work and study and their general understanding of Indonesia, and advising on appropriate conduct in Indonesia;
  7. In cooperation with the PC/ PM, complete all routine administration that is part of ACICIS pastoral care responsibilities (maintaining databases, counselling students, liaising with home universities as required);
  8. Providing assistance to students in routine and/or emergency medical or security procedures;
  9. Conducting end of program evaluation sessions with participants and offering this information as feedback into the ongoing development and improvement of ACICIS programs;
  10. Assisting other ACICIS programs and tasks when directed by the PC/ PM/ RD.
