Calling all Atma Jaya students!

For semester 3-6

 

Good news for you!

 

Myongji University is opening a chance for you to study in Korea for 2 semesters.

Only 2 (TWO) will be chosen :)

 

Below information is based on the 2016 SCHOLARSHIP. The details of 2017 will be differ and will be informed when confirmed.

The benefits of the 2016 GKS government scholarship was as below:

1. Round trip airfare : maximum amount will be shared once more information is given from NIIED.

2. Monthly living expenses (500,000 KRW per month)

   - On the first and last month, living expenses will be calculated in daily basis if students arrives later than March 1 and only until the semester ends in December.

   - On the other months, if the student does not stay in Korea for over 16 days (due to overseas trip), monthly living expenses will not be given.

3. Settling in fee (once only in the beginning, 200,000 KRW)

4. Insurance fee : paid directly to the insurance company.

 

To meet the qualifications of the Korean government, students must meet below criteria.

However, this is based on 2016 since the full description of 2017 has not been released yet.

Nonetheless, I do not expect it to be too different. I will let you know once again when the government informs me more details.,

1. Average GPA

    - must score higher than 80% in total. (Refer to attached GPA conversion table)

- must submit cumulative GPA transcript

2. Language Proficiency Score

    - must have an Official Language Proficiency Test score (excluding their mother language)

- must submit the official test result

3. Study Plan - why they wish to study in Korea, their goal during their stay in Korea, academic goal in Korean higher education

    - MUST NOT mention the name of Korean university in the content)

    - TEMPLATE will be provided

    - Written in either English or Korean

    - Within 3 pages

4. Self-Introductory Statement - volunteer works prior coming to Korea, future plan after studying in Korea

    - MUST NOT mention the name of Korean partner university in the content)

    - TEMPLATE will be provided

    - Written in either English or Korean

    - Within 3 pages

5. Award Certificate or Recommendation Letter (SELECTIVE, not a must. This is to gain additional points)

    - Not in MJU template

    - Written in either English or Korean

Please submit all documents required NO LATER THAN January 16, 2016 to International Office.
