Belief in a just world (BJW) is defined by Lerner (1980) as a psychological concept for explaining the fairness in the world. Although Dalbert had constructed the BJW scale, as Carmona, 1998; Frey, 2005; Whatley, 1992; Jasso, 2005 have suggested, the concept of justice, as well as the scores interpretation may differ from one culture to another. This paper reports the development of Indonesian BJW scale construction based on Lerner and Dalbert’s BJW theory. From the result it is found that the scale has an Alpha Cronbach of 0.71. The construct validity is obtained with confirmatory factor analysis with measurement model, and the construct validity correlation coefficients are 0.42 (with Dalbert’s BJW) and -0.37 (with belief in unjust world scale).
