Guest Lecturer: Antecedents of Entrepreneurial Intention Among University Students

A collaboration between the School of Business Administration, Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia, and Universiti Sains Malaysia

The job market is becoming more competitive for young graduates and this emerging issue is relevant to both developed and developing countries including Malaysia and Indonesia. Universities around the world are encouraged to incorporate entrepreneurship education into their curriculum. As well as entrepreneurship core courses, universities are increasingly creating entrepreneurship centres with the ambition of providing entrepreneurship knowledge and skills to all students from various academic backgrounds. These serve as push factors to develop an interest in entrepreneurship and the opportunities it entails.

Among the objectives of this strategy is to produce more job creators, or in other words, produce more entrepreneurs. This new development in higher education is now embedded in the landscape of higher education in Malaysia. This session shares the experiences of Malaysian universities in nurturing future entrepreneurs among their graduates while at the same time making their university a truly entrepreneurial institution.
