Sheila is a faculty member at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at UNIKA Atma Jaya. She has a BA (2006) in aerospace engineering from Institut Teknik Bandung, an MA from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (2009), and a PhD in aerospace engineering from the University of New South Wales (2014).

Her proposed research is on “Aerodynamics and Renewable Energy,” testing a new model for building a wind turbine at California Institute of Technology. She believes that collaboration with experienced engineers from the United States and access to advanced equipment in the US will help her refine her “flapping wing” wind turbine model, which could have broad uses if successful.
