My experience as one of the students at In-Service PPG at Unika Atma Jaya has given me plenty of valuable lessons, expanding my horizon and opening my eyes to the act that being a teacher is not only about reaching the final “scores” but also about dealing with the core problems that we teachers often face in our respective classes. As every student may demonstrate their idiosyncratic behaviors, teachers are expected to be able to come up with ideas to design learning models, methods or media that can appeal to these students during the learning and teaching activities.

Unika Atma Jaya, particularly the In-Service Teacher Professional Program, has taught me so many valuable experienced to solve real issues that happen in our classrooms, which we might have overlooked before. I also learn how to make use of T-PACK, which has been made to suit the students’ needs and characteristics, to help myself become an active, creative and innovative teacher.

I would like to express my gratitude to all lecturers and mentoring teachers who are more than willing to guide me and my other colleagues to complete this in-service PPG. I also want to extend my appreciation to all the administrators who are always ready to help us when needed.

I'm really grateful for that!

I have garnered so much experience and knowledge throughout my study at Pre-Service PPG at Unika Atma Jaya, Jakarta. I was guided well by all the lecturers at Atma Jaya, and they show high levels of tolerance, exceptional range of knowledge, openness to questions and discussions and patient in dealing with all our questions as students of Pre-Service Programs during the courses. The campus environment is also very warm with all the complete facilities to support our learning, which include library, WIFI, computer labs, and so on. There is so much knowledge that I have got, thanks to the guidance from the Pre-Service PPG lecturers at Unika Atma Jaya. Now, I am more than ready to become a professional educator.

Participating in the Pre-service Teacher Professional Education (PPG Prajabatan) program at Unika Atma Jaya was a truly transformative and memorable learning experience. The program did not merely equip me with educational theory; it genuinely prepared me to become an adaptive and professional educator.

One of the program's key strengths is its faculty—highly professional, exceptional, and experienced lecturers. They went beyond simply delivering course material, sharing real-world insights drawn from their extensive backgrounds in education. Their dedication and humanistic teaching approach deeply inspired me to consistently give my best to my students.

Furthermore, the curriculum was robust and aligned with the realities of the field. Course content was designed to address the actual challenges teachers face in schools today. Every assignment, teaching simulation, and Field Experience Practice (PPL) session was highly relevant; this ensured I not only grasped theoretical concepts but was also prepared to handle real-world classroom dynamics.

Excellent facilities at Unika Atma Jaya also ensured an optimal learning experience. From comfortable, technology-integrated classrooms and a library with a comprehensive, tech-enabled reference collection to reliable digital learning platforms, everything effectively supported students' academic and practical needs.

Overall, it was an eye-opening educational journey. I learned to view education from a broader perspective, understand the diversity of student personalities, and devise inclusive, innovative teaching strategies.

I am deeply grateful and proud to have been part of the PPG Prajabatan program at Unika Atma Jaya. I believe this institution is the ideal place for anyone aspiring to transform into an educator who makes a meaningful impact on the advancement of education in Indonesia.

Holidayanti Siregar

I am Holidayanti Siregar, S.Pd., an alumna of the Pre-service Teacher Professional Education (PPG) program—Cohort 1, English Education Study Program—at Atma Jaya Catholic University. Participating in the PPG program at Atma Jaya was a truly memorable experience in my journey to becoming a teacher.

Throughout the year-long program, I gained a wealth of experience and knowledge that not only expanded my understanding but also shaped my perspective on the teaching profession. I feel fortunate to have learned from competent and experienced lecturers. The various course materials, discussions, assignments, evaluations, and assessments played a crucial role in developing my competence as an educator.

The field experience (PPL) was also invaluable, as it provided the opportunity to apply what I had learned directly in a school setting—learning to understand students' personalities, manage a classroom, and design lessons. I also greatly benefited from the guidance provided by lecturers during the coursework, as well as the support from supervising lecturers during the practical and competency assessments. Their direction, feedback, and mentorship made me better prepared and more confident in navigating every stage of the PPG program.

Currently, I serve as a Government Employee with a Work Agreement (PPPK) teacher at SD Negeri 4 Sangkan Gunung in Karangasem Regency, Bali. Since becoming a teacher, I have realized that much of what I learned during the PPG program is actively applied in my daily duties. My field experience serves as a vital resource when facing real-world classroom situations, while the knowledge and insights gained from the coursework help me design lessons that are engaging, contextual, and tailored to my students' needs.

To me, the PPG program at Atma Jaya was not merely about completing a professional course and obtaining a certificate; it was a journey of learning, gaining experience, receiving mentorship, and shaping my identity as a teacher.

Thank you, Atma Jaya, for such a memorable learning experience, for the opportunity to grow, and for the foundation that continues to support me on my journey as a teacher.

Linda Parwati

I am Linda Parwati, a graduate of the Pre-service Teacher Professional Education (PPG Prajabatan) program, Cohort 1, at Unika Atma Jaya Jakarta. During my year of study, I gained a truly memorable learning experience. The lecturers were exceptionally competent, approachable, open, and engaging, creating a comfortable learning atmosphere. They went beyond teaching theory; they provided motivation that boosted my enthusiasm and self-confidence as a prospective teacher.

During the Field Experience Program (PPL), we were given the freedom to choose schools based on our place of residence, ensuring the practical training was effective. I also successfully passed the competency exam, thanks to the excellent instruction and guidance I received. The final academic review (yudisium) was a highlight, capping off a program characterized by great support throughout my studies.

I am currently employed as a Government Employee with a Work Agreement (PPPK) serving as an English teacher at Sekolah Rakyat. I am able to apply the knowledge and experience gained at Atma Jaya to design lessons that are student-centered, enjoyable, and tailored to their needs. As a result, my students have become more active, confident in communicating in English, and willing to take risks, while also enjoying the learning process itself. For me, the Atma Jaya PPG program not only shaped my professional competence as a teacher but also empowered me to deliver more meaningful learning experiences for my students.
