Jakarta, April 21 2026 – Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia (AJCUI) welcomed representatives from the Embassy of Kenya for a courtesy visit at its campus, marking an important step in exploring potential academic collaboration between both parties. The visit was led by H.E. Ambassador Abdirashid Salat Abdille, accompanied by Mr. Stephen Mworsho Lorete, Deputy Head of Mission, and Mrs. Shani Shemni Athman, Second Secretary.
The meeting provided an opportunity for both sides to engage in an initial discussion on possible areas of cooperation, particularly in relation to higher education and scholarship opportunities. Among the topics highlighted was the KNB (Kemitraan Negara Berkembang) Scholarship, reflecting a shared interest in expanding access to international education and strengthening academic connections between Indonesia and Kenya. Representatives from AJCUI also shared insights into the university’s academic environment, international programs, and ongoing initiatives that support global engagement.
Although exploratory in nature, the visit reflected AJCUI’s openness in building new partnerships beyond the ASEAN region and strengthening its presence in a wider international context. The meeting also highlighted the importance of dialogues between higher education institutions and diplomatic representatives in creating opportunities for student mobility, academic exchange, and cross-cultural collaboration.
