Jakarta, 13 May 2026 – Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia (AJCUI), in collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Jakarta and supported by NAWA, successfully organized “Polska na Talerzu – Poland on a Plate,” a culinary workshop celebrating the 10th anniversary of Polish language courses at AJCUI. Led by renowned Polish chefs Marcin Budynekand Kamil Babkowski, the event provided participants of NAWA-funded Polish language programs with a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in Polish culture through gastronomy while practicing their language skills in an authentic setting. The workshop began with an introduction to traditional Polish cuisine and the ingredients used in the featured dishes. Under the chefs’ guidance, participants prepared fresh ingredients, including vegetables, herbs, meat, and seasonings, while learning proper preparation techniques and culinary vocabulary in Polish.

Following the preparation session, participants moved on to the cooking stage, where they followed the chefs’ guidance to create authentic Polish dishes. Working in groups, they learned various cooking techniques, from seasoning and assembling ingredients to plating the final dishes. The Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Indonesia also joined the cooking session, preparing dishes alongside participants and enriching the cultural exchange experience. Throughout the workshop, the chefs shared insights into Polish culinary traditions and the cultural significance of the dishes. The event concluded with a tasting session, where participants enjoyed the dishes they had prepared while reflecting on the culinary and language skills they had gained. More than simply a cooking workshop, Poland on a Plate served as a meaningful celebration of a decade of Polish language education at AJCUI, strengthening cultural ties between Poland and Indonesia.
