Jakarta, 11 August 2026 — Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia (AJCUI), through its Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK), inaugurated the Medical Simulation Center at the Pluit Campus. The new facility is part of FKIK AJCUI’s continuing efforts to strengthen clinical education and provide students with a more realistic learning environment before they encounter patients and real-world healthcare situations. The inauguration began with a Mass celebrated by RD Ignasius Wahyudi Paweling, Head of the AJCUI Pastoral Office, followed by the blessing of the Medical Simulation Center and a traditional potong tumpeng ceremony. The occasion brought together representatives of the university, the Atma Jaya Foundation, and FKIK AJCUI to mark the development of a facility dedicated to supporting students’ clinical learning.
In her remarks, Dean of FKIK AJCUI Dr. dr. Felicia Kurniawan, M.Kes., expressed her appreciation to everyone involved in preparing the facility and emphasized the importance of ensuring that it is used to its fullest potential. She also shared the hope that the center could eventually develop into a “mini hospital,” expanding its usefulness beyond student learning to include clinical education for healthcare professionals. Representing the Atma Jaya Foundation, Secretary of the Foundation’s Board Christophorus Pungky Putranto highlighted the importance of providing medical students with opportunities to practice in a safe environment. Through simulation, students can make mistakes, evaluate their performance, and improve their skills before applying them in real patient-care situations. (RBA)
