Jakarta, 15-31 July 2026 —  Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia (AJCUI) welcomed students from the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague (CULS) for an extended inbound program combining academic learning, cultural exploration, and intercultural exchange. Throughout their stay, the students participated in Summer Course activities, campus visits, educational excursions, and cultural activities designed to introduce them to both AJCUI and Indonesian society. The program began with the students’ arrival in Jakarta, followed by a welcome and introduction at the Faculty of Biotechnology and Innovation (FBTI) and a campus tour. During the following days, the students took part in Summer Course sessions across AJCUI’s campuses and participated in educational and community-oriented excursions, including a visit to the Museum of Anatomy and activities at Saung Baca Suradita. These experiences complemented their classroom learning by allowing them to explore different aspects of Indonesian academic and community life.

Cultural immersion became another important part of the program. Through activities coordinated by AJCUI’s International Office, the CULS students explored Jakarta and attended an Indonesian culture session titled “An Overview of Indonesian Culture.” The students also prepared and enjoyed Indomie together with AJCUI staff and Student Staff before learning traditional Indonesian dances and participating in traditional games such as Gobak Sodor and Ular Naga. The program continued with activities introducing the students to Indonesian society and local experiences, including a visit to a waste-processing facility, cultural activities, an Indomie competition, and an introduction to tempe production and research. The program concluded with a closing and certificate ceremony, followed by a farewell banquet before the students returned to the Czech Republic. Through this multi-week inbound program, AJCUI and CULS provided students with more than an academic Summer Course. (RBA)
