Jakarta, 26 February 2026 – As part of the preparation for the Academic Year 2026/2027, Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia (AJCUI), the International Office and Kantor Beasiswa, held a New Students Pre-Arrival Briefing for AJIS Timor-Leste awardees on Thursday, 26 February 2026. Conducted via Zoom to accommodate participants in both Dili and Jakarta, the session marked an important first step in welcoming the new students before they begin their academic journey in Indonesia. The briefing was more than just a technical session — it was a warm introduction to life as part of the Atma Jaya community. Students and their parents joined the session to learn about essential matters such as study permits and student visas, arrival timelines, campus locations, living in Jakarta, and the allocation of scholarship funds. The International Office team carefully explained the visa process, required documents, and important deadlines, ensuring that students clearly understood both the DOs and DON’Ts before departure.
The session was attended by university and diplomatic representatives, including Yanti, Ph.D., Vice Rector for Research, Innovation, Collaboration, and Alumni; Prof. Dr. Tasrifin Tahara, M.Si., Education and Culture Attaché of the Indonesian Embassy in Dili; and Mrs. Claudia Pereira Soares, Interim Attaché of Education from the Embassy of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste. Their presence reflected the strong educational partnership between Indonesia and Timor-Leste and reaffirmed the shared commitment to supporting the students’ academic success. Beyond administrative preparation, the session also introduced students to the structure and support system of AJCUI’s International Office and scholarship framework. Students were reminded of their responsibilities as scholarship recipients — to maintain academic performance, uphold university values, actively participate in campus activities, and represent both their home country and Atma Jaya with integrity.
