The Faculty of Bioscience, Technology, and Innovation (FBTI) at Unika Atma Jaya was established on January 1, 2025, as a merger of the Faculty of Engineering, which had been established on July 1, 1961, and the Faculty of Technobiology, which had been established on April 3, 2002.
For undergraduate programs, the first program established in 1961 was Mechanical Engineering, followed by Electrical Engineering in 1979. Then, the Industrial Engineering program was established in 1999, followed by the Biology program in 2002, which was later renamed the Biotechnology program. The Food Technology program was established in 2014, and the Information Systems program was established in 2017. In addition to undergraduate programs, FBTI Unika Atma Jaya also offers graduate programs, including Master of Mechanical Engineering, Master of Electrical Engineering, Master of Biotechnology, and Professional Engineer programs.
Since 2017, FBTI has held lectures at two campuses. Campus I Semanggi is for the postgraduate programs of Master of Mechanical Engineering, Master of Electrical Engineering, Master of Biotechnology, Professional Engineer, as well as the undergraduate programs of Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical Engineering. Campus 3 of Unika Atma Jaya in BSD City is used for lectures for all undergraduate programs in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Information Systems, Biotechnology, and Food Technology.

- To provide both academic and professional education to advance the development of bioscience and technology and to promote the students’ character building;
- To conduct both fundamental and applied research to
drive innovation and advance the development in bioscience and technology;
- To contribute expertise in bioscience and
technology to society through meaningful and impactful community service
activities; and
- To manage collaborative and sustainable higher
education programs with effectiveness, efficiency, and ethical integrity.
Goals of FBTI
- To produce graduates with a sense of professionalism, integrity, care for the community, global orientation, and awareness of the development in bioscience and technology;
- To produce research and scientific works that can
be published at national or international levels and recognized as intellectual
property;
- To conduct meaningful and impactful community
service activities with the use of expertise in bioscience and technology;
- To develop higher education programs that are
effective, efficient, collaborative and sustainable; and
- To provide adequate and modern educational infrastructure
and facilities, as well as professional academic and non-academic staff.
