Biography

"Mrs. Yanti earned her Bachelor's degree from Bogor Agricultural University in 2000 and her Master's degree (M.Si.) in 2003. She then continued her studies to obtain a Doctorate (Ph.D.) from Yonsei University in 2009. She specializes in Beauty Foods, Spice Cosmetics, and Fermented Cosmetics, and serves as the Head of the Research Center, leading studies related to the utilization of spices in the beauty and health industries. In her role as an educator, Mrs. Yanti teaches courses such as Beauty Food & Cosmeceuticals, Biochemistry, and Nutrigenomics, enriching students' understanding of the applications of biotechnology in beauty and health.

 

 As a researcher, Mrs. Yanti has published several significant works, including studies on fibrinolytic proteases from bacteria isolated from Indonesian fermented foods, as well as the effects of essential oils from Zanthoxylum acanthopodium on bad breath. Her work also includes investigations into bioactive extracts from bacteria isolated from coastal sediments in Indonesia. Through these various studies, Mrs. Yanti, M.Si., Ph.D., demonstrates her dedication to advancing knowledge and utilizing Indonesia's natural resources for health and biotechnology applications."

 

Education

Mrs. Yanti earned her Bachelor's degree from Bogor Agricultural University in 2000, followed by a Master of Science (M.Si.) from the same institution in 2003. She then continued her studies and obtained a Doctorate (Ph.D.) from Yonsei University in 2009.

She specializes in Beauty Foods, Spice Cosmetics, Fermented Cosmetics, and Indonesian Spices. Currently, Mrs. Yanti also serves as the Head of the Research Center, where she leads various studies related to the utilization of spices in the beauty and health industries.

As an educator, Mrs. Yanti teaches a variety of courses, including Beauty Food & Cosmeceuticals, Animal Cell Culture, Biochemistry, Advanced Biochemistry, Microbial Bioprospecting, Enzyme Biotechnology, Immunology, Herbal Medicine & Herbs, Selected Topics in Biotechnology, Bioanalytical Chemistry, Basic Chemistry, Food Chemistry, Biochemistry Laboratory, Nutrigenomics, Functional Foods & Nutraceuticals, and Guided Research. Through her teaching, Mrs. Yanti contributes to enriching students' understanding of the applications of biotechnology and food science in the fields of beauty and health.

 

Recent Publications

"Mrs. Yanti, M.Si., Ph.D., is a researcher focused on biotechnology and linguistics. In 2018, she published several important works, including ""Proteomics Study of Extracellular Fibrinolytic Proteases from Bacillus licheniformis RO3 and Bacillus pumilus 2.g Isolated from Indonesian Fermented Food,"" which investigates the fibrinolytic protease properties of bacteria isolated from Indonesian fermented foods. This research provides new insights into the potential of local bacteria to produce enzymes beneficial for medical and industrial applications.

 

 Additionally, Mrs. Yanti published ""Screening, Purification, and Characterization of Fibrinolytic Enzyme-Producing Bacteria From Indonesian Fermented Foods,"" which focuses on the purification and characterization of fibrinolytic enzyme-producing bacteria from fermented foods, assessing the contributions of local microbes to health and nutrition. In the field of linguistics, she published ""The Phonological Basis of Syntactic Change in Kerinci,"" which explains the phonological foundations of syntactic change in the Kerinci language, contributing to the understanding of language change in the region (doi: 10.1353/ol.2018.0018).

 

 In 2019, Mrs. Yanti continued her research with the publication ""Antihalitosis Effect of Essential Oil Extracted From Zanthoxylum Acanthopodium Fruits,"" exploring the effects of essential oil from Zanthoxylum acanthopodium fruits on addressing bad breath. She also published ""Bioactive Crude Extracts From Several Psychrobacter alimentarius Isolated From Indonesia Coastal Sediment,"" investigating bioactive crude extracts from bacteria isolated from Indonesian coastal sediments. Through this series of research, Mrs. Yanti, M.Si., Ph.D., demonstrates her dedication to advancing knowledge and utilizing Indonesia's natural resources for health and biotechnology applications."
