Biography
Prof. Dr. I.B.R. Supancana, S.H., M.H., completed his undergraduate studies at Universitas Padjadjaran in 1983 and pursued a Master of Laws degree at Universitas Indonesia, which he obtained in 1990. He later earned his Doctorate from the State University of Leiden in 1998. As an expert in Air and Space Law, Prof. Supancana has a deep understanding of aviation and space regulations, alongside expertise in Cyber Law, Foreign Investment Law, and International Commercial Contracts. In his role as an educator, Prof. Supancana teaches courses such as Information & Electronic Transactions Law and International Contract Law, aiming to equip students with relevant knowledge and skills. Over the past few years, he has produced significant publications, including "Indonesian Space Policy, Regulations and Programs: Past Achievements and Future Prospects," which evaluates Indonesia’s space policies. Another important work, "Maritime Boundary Disputes Between Indonesia and Malaysia in the Area of Ambalat Block," presents peaceful resolution scenarios for maritime disputes. In addition, Prof. Supancana has authored policy papers that offer innovative recommendations for economic recovery and analysis of cloud computing policy in Indonesia. Through these contributions, he has significantly impacted the development of legal scholarship and public policy in Indonesia, while fostering constructive dialogue on contemporary legal and policy issues.
Education
Prof. Dr. I.B.R. Supancana pursued higher education at Universitas Padjadjaran, earning his Bachelor of Laws degree in 1983. He continued his studies at Universitas Indonesia, obtaining a Master of Laws degree in 1990. To complete his education, he earned his Doctorate from the State University of Leiden in 1998.

As an expert in Aviation Law and Space Law, Prof. Supancana has a deep understanding of the regulations governing aviation and space activities. This work offers various peaceful settlement scenarios, providing valuable insights for stakeholders and policymakers in efforts to ease tensions in the region.
Prof. Supancana has also written several policy papers, including "Accelerating National Economic Recovery with Progressive Digital Economy Policies to Support National Strategies in the Digital Economy." In this publication, he presents innovative policy recommendations to expedite Indonesia's economic recovery through the adoption of progressive digital technologies, which are expected to support sustainable economic growth.
Additionally, in "Study on Cloud Computing Policy in Indonesia," Prof. Supancana analyzes policies related to cloud computing technology in Indonesia. This work provides an in-depth understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by the country in adopting such technology, as well as its implications for economic and industrial development in Indonesia.
