Biography
Deka Prismawan obtained his bachelor and apothecary degree from Airlangga University. After two years of working in a pharmaceutical company, he undertook a master study in Medical Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Groningen, the Netherlands. During his master’s program, he performed his first research project in the group of Prof. Alexander Dömling in Groningen Research Institute of Pharmacy, working on the multicomponent reaction-based synthesis of macrocycles targeting protein-protein interactions. His second research project focused on the development of human 15-lipoxygenase-1 inhibitors from the previously identified indolyl scaffold hit using combinatorial chemistry under the supervision of Prof. Frank J. Dekker and Prof. Anna K. H. Hirsch at Stratingh Institute for Chemistry. He completed his master’s degree in 2018, and he currently works in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences in Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia. His research interests are synthetic organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, and computer-aided drug design.
