MoU Signing with IMUN: Millennials Role is Needed for The Future

The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by Zoom Meeting was materialized to invite millennials to participate in solving global problems, the global economy, and global social change.

 

The purpose of IMUN‘s activities is to invite millennials to be more concerned with problems that occur in the global era. UNIKA Atma Jaya formed a collaboration with the International Model United Nations (IMUN) as a form of support from both parties for international peace. Not only to invite young participants but also to encourage global discussion among citizens from all states.

 

This event was attended by Mr. Mohneesh Bhardwaj, Mr. Adre, Ms. Cindy, and Amelia Berliana from Team IMUN; and the Head of Communication Science Major Dr. Dorien Kartikawangi, Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration and Communication Science (FIABIKOM) Dr. Yohanes Eko Widodo, Head of the Master of Business Administration (MBA) Dr.rer.pol. A.Y. Agung Nugroho, Lecturer of Business Administration Major Rosdiana Sijabat, Ph.D., and both Lecturer and Deputy Dean of FIABIKOM III Satria Kusuma, S.Sos., M.Si. from UNIKA Atma Jaya.

 

 

Dean of FIABIKOM, Dr. Yohanes Eko Widodo, revealed that millennials’ involvement in solving global problems needs to be applied as early as possible because they have to control and take responsibility in the future. In addition, the representative of Team IMUN, Mr. Mohneesh Bhardwaj, also explained the steps towards IMUN activities around the world.

 

International Model United Nations (IMUN) itself is an association of youth from various countries to learn and share their ideas. In general, the representatives of each of these countries master several things about diplomacy, international relations, and the unity of all states.

 

“This has been an honor. We are truly excited about the coming events. Today marks the first time we have been able to collaborate with universities in Indonesia, and in these 4 years we have also seen many participants from all over Indonesia,” explained the IMUN Team representative in this event.

 

Before the execution of this agreement, Dr. Dorien Kartikawangi has also discussed several times with the Team IMUN to collaborate with UNIKA Atma Jaya regarding the procurement of activities that can achieve the goals of IMUN. Based on the results of the final discussion between the two parties, the planned events will later be held in June 2022 in Indonesia. At the same time, the events at an international scale will be entrusted to the Communication Science Major at UNIKA Atma Jaya.

 

 

The closing of the collaboration between FIABIKOM based on the discussion was then inaugurated through the signing of the MoU by representatives from the IMUN Team, Mr. Mohneesh Bhardwaj and the Dean of FIABIKOM, Dr. Yohanes Eko Widodo on Tuesday, January 25, 2022.
