The Faculty of Education and Language (FPB) Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia (AJCUI) has made a new Indonesian World Records Museum (MURI) by hosting a virtual singing collaboration by the most number of faculty members.
Singing a song title "Doa bagi Bangsa" (a Prayer for Nation), the virtual singing involving 61 participants, consisting of students, alumni, and lecturers from four study programs: the Guidance and Counselling Education, Catholic Religious Education, English Language Education, and Elementary Teacher Education.
Dominikus David Biondi Situmorang, a lecturer of the Faculty of Education and Language and the music director, expressing gratitude for this achievement. This work is dedicated as a present to Indonesia amid this pandemic, said Situmorang.
"I feel happy, proud, and touched. This offering of prayer through song for our nation amidst pandemic, turn up to gained recognition,"
He said that it only needs one day to write the song. As for the recording process of the instrument takes three days. "It started with sharing a voice note to fellow lecturers and students. Eventually, the FPB family agreed to collaborate (to sing the song)," he said.
Meanwhile, the recruitment process for the contributors of singers is carried out for ten days, as well as the brainstorming for the storyboard.
The process of producing the song "Doa bagi Bangsa" is carried out in two stages. The first stage took ten days in mixing and audio mastering of 61 contributors, with each clip being done in a meticulous detail vocal editing process, considering the singers’ characteristics and their best parts. The second stage is video editing, which took ten days, carried out by FPB student, Mikhael Kristanto Genesaret.
The performance of the Faculty of Education and Language singing "Doa bagi Bangsa" has flooded with positive responses and comments on social media.
Dominikus hopes to collaborate with university members in the future. "I am proud to be part of Atma Jaya‘s big family. I hope for a more massive collaboration with colleagues of AJCUI,"
This achievement is a sweet gift from the Faculty of Education and Language for Atma Jaya‘s 60th anniversary. FPB offers complete levels of bachelor, master, and doctoral degrees.
This achievement strengthens the public‘s recognition of FPB as a distinguished faculty academically and non-academically.
