UAJ at the Forefront of Global Sustainability

Erasmus+ ECoGREEN Consortium Closing Event (2023–2026)

For three dedicated years (2023–early 2026), the Erasmus+ ECoGREEN Consortium served as a strategic collaboration platform between six national universities—UNPAR (PIC), Ubaya, SCU, UAJ, Trisakti, and Unwahas—and two leading international partners: Wageningen University & Research (Netherlands) and Hasselt University (Belgium). The program officially concluded on February 9–10, 2026, at UNPAR Bandung. This program concluded with an Erasmus+ Information Session, a closing ceremony, a CELS (Consortium on Ecoliteracy and Sustainability) partnership, and a partner matchmaking forum that opened up opportunities for further collaboration—international conferences, expert lecturer exchanges, cross-border community service, and global grants like the Jean Monnet program.

This closing is not the end. This marks the beginning of a new chapter of a more intensive Indonesia-Europe collaboration towards a sustainable future.

The closing ceremony was attended by Ms. Yanti, Ph.D., Vice Rector for Innovation, Research, Cooperation, and Alumni, along with Dr. Christina Juliana, Coordinator of the Erasmus+ ECoGREEN Consortium at UAJ, and the core team: Prof. Natalia Yeti Puspita, Dr. Adji Pratikto, Dr. Almatius Marsudi, and Elnath Aldi, SE, MSi.

The success of these three years has been born from the collaboration, dedication, and commitment of the entire academic community, as well as national, LPPM UAJand international partners. With gratitude, we believe that all of this is possible because of the grace of His goodness and the presence of the Holy Spirit, so that every step runs smoothly and has a far-reaching impact.

From Faith to Green Action: UAJ for Our Common Home

As an active partner of the Erasmus+ ECoGREEN Consortium, Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia is present not merely to participate—but to lead the transformation.

Through the development of the Green Campus BSD (green infrastructure, plastic reduction, energy efficiency, and renewable energy initiatives), UAJ affirms its commitment to aligning with global standards such as UI GreenMetric, QS Sustainability Ranking, and Times Higher Education Impact Rankings.

This transformation is reinforced through:

• European Union benchmarking (May 2024) with Wageningen University & Research, Deventer University, Hasselt University, and VUB Belgium to adopt best practices in green campus and green entrepreneurship.

  • • Bootcamp at Hasselt University, attended by three selected UAJ students to learn sustainability practices directly at Belgian companies.

• Two UAJ lecturers are GRI-certified (2025) to strengthen global capacity in sustainability reporting.

  • • Sustainability Reporting Competition (December 2025) attended by 10 MSMEs fostered by UAJ

    • Six (6) Industry-Based Webinars (2023–2026) with approximately 300 participants per session (totaling over 1,800 participants), featuring regulators, practitioners, associations, leading academics, and students.

    • Through Erasmus+ ECoGREEN Work Package 4, UAJ is developing sustainability research by applying the Whole School Approach (WSA). Topics studied include: strengthening the sustainability vision, campus environment, curriculum, pedagogy and didactics, research, community service, professional development, and building management and operations. The WSA approach is implemented systematically through the cycle: Sensitizing – Plan – Do – Check – Act – Dialogue, so that sustainability innovation can be integrated and sustained.

    ·       • BNSP-certified Green Entrepreneurship Bootcamp, involving five UAJ students (3 from MIH and 2 from Management). This activity equipped participants with nationally standardized green entrepreneurship competencies while strengthening their readiness to become professional and impactful sustainable business actors.

    Grant Support & Facility Strengthening

UAJ received a grant in the form of a SMART TV and laptop to support learning, MSME mentoring, international webinars, and strengthening sustainability reporting capacity. These facilities strengthen UAJ's digital infrastructure for: Hybrid conferences and international webinars, online mentoring for sustainability-based MSMEs, a Sustainability Reporting Competition, and cross-campus and cross-country collaboration. This grant symbolizes the trust and commitment of the Erasmus+ ECoGREEN Consortium in strengthening institutional capacity sustainably.
