Jakarta, 18 July 2023 – Universitas Katolik Indonesia (Unika) Atma Jaya as one of the private universities that are members of the Association of Catholic Universities or commonly abbreviated as APTIK, which is a collaborative institution between Catholic university managers.
Since its establishment on 24 February 1984 by four Catholic universities, namely Unika Atma Jaya - Jakarta, Unika Parahyangan - Bandung, Sanata Dharma University - Yogyakarta and Widya Mandala Catholic University - Surabaya, APTIK officially became the successor of the Catholic Higher Education Cooperation Foundation (YKPTK) and the Catholic Higher Education Council (MPTK).
Attended by 17 young lecturers from 9 APTIK universities in Sumatra, West Java, Jakarta and Kalimantan, the Workshop on Lecturer Development and Learning Based on Driyarkara Philosophy and Andragogy was held for 4 days from Wednesday to Saturday, 12-15 July, at Civita Youth Camp, Ciputat.
As a cooperative institution, one of APTIK's missions is to help sustain, discover the distinctiveness and excellence of its members. This is in line with what the APTIK board representative, Drs. Kasdin Sihotang, M.Hum. as Secretary, said in his speech.
"One of the results of the congress agreed upon by all leaders of APTIK member foundations and university leaders is to try to come up with their own characteristics for members in terms of learning methods," he said.
Through JPA (Learning Network), APTIK tries to highlight one of Indonesia's Catholic philosophers, Prof. Dr Nicolaus Driyarkara, SJ, with his philosophy of education to serve as a model for lecturer development and learning.

The workshop activities consisted of 10 sessions with each topic that deepened the material, complemented by several group discussion activities that were expected to allow participants to share their perspectives to further open up insights between each other.
At the end of the event, the participants, who are young lecturers from various APTIK member universities, were invited to identify and implement Driyarkara's educational philosophy and the basic principles of Andragogy in each of their courses, and then present it for feedback from other participants and facilitators.

As the only Catholic private university in Jabodetabek, Unika Atma Jaya has been quite successful in implementing the KUPP values (Christian, Superior, Professional, and Caring), especially in terms of Christianity, which is the foundation of Unika Atma Jaya and the pillar for the progress of the university.
Having many alumni who are successful in their respective careers makes Unika Atma Jaya a university that is able to produce graduates with excellence and integrity, and is able to contribute to the future development of Indonesia.
With the workshop activities which were also attended by four lecturer representatives from Unika Atma Jaya, namely Putri Purbasari Raharningtyas Marditia, S.H., M.H (Faculty of Law), apt. Dion Notario, M.Sc and dr. Andrew Adhytia Lieputra, S.Ked, Sp.MK. (Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences), and Denny Jean Cross Sihombing, S.T., M.T (Faculty of Engineering), it is hoped that the young lecturers can apply the things gained in the event when conducting teaching and learning activities with students, as well as spreading the knowledge gained to other colleagues.
