Jakarta, May 30 2023 – In the
commemoration of the National Education Day on May 2 2023, the Minister of
Education and Culture (Mendikbud) Nadiem Makarim designated May as the Merdeka
Belajar Month, which is celebrated with various milestones towards better
changes and intended to accelerate the transformation and advancement of
education through the Merdeka Belajar movement.

University of Indonesia, together with the Vice Rector of Academic Affairs, Dr.
Magdalena Surjaningsih Halim,
Psikolog, attended the event ‘Appreciation of Performance and Collaboration in
Merdeka Belajar Program in the Higher Education Service Institution Region III’
in the celebration of the Merdeka Belajar Month. This event is intended to
extend appreciation towards higher education institutions who contribute to
envisioning the goals of Merdeka Belajar.
In this event, Unika Atma Jaya was awarded the
appreciation towards the report of its academic activity “Teaching Assistance
in the educational units to support Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka in the areas
supervised by the Higher Education Service Institution Region III.” The award
was received directly by Vice Rector of Academic Affairs of Unika Atma Jaya, Dr. Magdalena Surjaningsih Halim, Psikolog. The
Teaching Assistance program in educational units are basically collaborative
learning activities held by the Atma Jaya students.
In the same event, Dr. Ir. Paristiyanti
Nurwardani as the Head of LLDikti Region III Period January 2022 - May 2023 expressed
her appreciation and gratitude towards the leaders of higher education
institutions and simultaneously welcomed Dr. Lukman, S.T., M. Hum, the Director
of Institutional Affairs of the Directorate General of Diktiristek, as the Acting Head of LLDikti Region III who will begin his duty as of
May 29 2023.
Lukman stated, “In the next few years, we will
keep encouraging the higher education institutions in the area under LLDikti
Region III to become “The Excellent and World-Class University.” So, to the
leaders of these universities, keep up the good work to improve the quality of
human resources as well as the infrastructures that facilitate the
implementation of the Higher Education Tri Dharma values. My appreciation also
goes to Ibu Paris as the Head of LLDikti Region III, who in the past one year
has demonstrated profound dedication to the improvement of the quality of
higher education institutions as evident in the achievement of the Main
Performance Indicators (IKU), the improving performance in the organization,
work culture and resources, as well as the improvement in the accreditation of
both study programs and institutions.”
In her opening remarks, Paristiyanti also
said, “With this opportunity, I thank all the university counterparts in the
area under LLDikti Region III for the synergy and partnerships. Keep up the
creativity and innovation to consistently contribute to the good of higher
education in Indonesia.”
The event ‘Appreciation of Performance and
Collaboration in Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka Program’ is aimed to give
appreciation towards institutions who have contributed well to realizing the
visions of Merdeka Belajar. These awards are hoped to propel all counterparts
to keep collaborating and producing excellent work in providing quality
education to all.
