Road to John Paul II

12/10/2019 12:00:00 AM

The Scholarship Office was involved in the series of activities in the event Road to John Paul II, which was held to commemorate the visitation of John Paul II to Unika Atma Jaya. The series of activities included seminars, talk shows, concerts, art festivals, Atma Jaya Run, and a speech competition. The student grantees took part in the event as volunteers and showcased their flashmob performance during the Atma Jaya Run 2019 event. Not only that, the Scholarship Office was also involved by opening booths to attract potential donators and promote Atma Jaya Run. The booths were installed in all the events held in all the three campuses, namely Semanggi, Pluit, and BSD.

One of the donation booths was installed during the Workshop “Multiple Intelligence” on August 23 & 26, 2019. Another was opened during the Clofest event on September 8, 2019, which was a music festival and an open-house event, attended by approximately 600 senior high school (SMA) students from across Jabodetabek. The event was festive, with a lot of activities such as workshops, art exhibitions, movie screening, charity concerts, and the performance of Naif and Marion Jola. Finally, another donation booth was opened during the Talk Show “Family and Intercultural” on September 29, which invited many popular figures, such as the celebrity couple, Chelsea Olivia and Glenn Alinskie, as well as Mayong and Nurul Arifin.

In the end of the event, Unika Atma Jaya held Atma Jaya Run 2019, which was coordinated by the Scholarship Office in collaboration with the alumni to collect donation. The donation included Rp10.000,- from each sold ticket, which would be used to help the active students at Unika Atma Jaya to continue their study. The event also featured the flashmob performed by 60 student grantees, which had been prepared two months prior to the event. After sparing time to practice amidst their busy schedules at the campus, they successfully performed a flashmob which receives positive reactions from the other participants of Atma Jaya Run 2019.
