Inviting the President's Special Staff, Unika Atma Jaya Pre-Service PPG Holds Leadership Project
Jakarta, 21 June 2023 – The Teacher Professional Education (PPG) Study Program of Universitas Katolik Indonesia (Unika) Atma Jaya held a Leadership Project Title for PPG Pre-Service students in batch I on Tuesday (20/06) which was held in Hall B, Campus I Semanggi.
The event was a programme initiated for Unika Atma Jaya Pre-Service PPG students who have carried out community service projects and worked with communities and schools in Indonesia.
There were 8 groups consisting of two classes, each group consisting of between 6-7 people. At the Leadership Project Degree event, in addition to presenting about the programmes and activities that have been carried out, the students also opened a booth related to the activities carried out during the service.
Inviting Billy Mambrasar, Special Staff of the President of Indonesia for Innovation, Education, and Outermost Regions as a speaker helped students to have more motivation for the advancement of education in Indonesia.
Inspired by his father who was also a teacher, Billy Mambrasar devoted his life to becoming a teacher and started an education and community development foundation in 2009 that aims to advance Papua in terms of education.
Billy said that the development of Human Resources in Indonesia is a top priority, therefore the education factor is very influential for the progress of a nation, especially towards the Golden Indonesia 2045.
He also regrets the low literacy rate in some parts of Indonesia, especially at the border. "Even in some areas, my father's students have not been able to read until high school," he said.
In addition to conveying information related to the latest updates from the world of education and motivating students to become professional educators, he also invited prospective teachers to learn the science of entrepreneurship in order to help in terms of developing existing resources.
The Leadership Project Title event is expected to be a bridge to build Indonesia, especially in the field of education, through community empowerment with various interesting and innovative work programmes.
This is included in the implementation of the Professional and Superior values of the KUPP value owned by Unika Atma Jaya, in accordance with the vision of Unika Atma Jaya in an effort to educate the nation's life.
