Yanti, Ph.D.

Yanti received her doctoral degree in linguistics from the University of Delaware in 2010 and M.A. degree in Applied English Linguistics from Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia in 2004. She has served as the Head of the Center for Pusat Kajian Bahasa dan Budaya ‘Language and Culture Studies’ at Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia. She is a member of the editorial board of NUSA: Linguistic Studies of Languages in and around Indonesia journal since 2013 and a member of the editorial board and peer-review board of Linguistik Indonesia journal since 2014. Yanti received a Luce Fellowship for Research on Indonesia from the American Institute for Indonesian Studies in 2013-2014. Her research interests cover documentary linguistics, language description, sociolinguistics, and English for Specific Purposes. She has published her works in both international and national accredited journals, such as Cognition, Oceanic Linguistics, International Journal of the Sociology of Language, Critical Multilingualism Studies, NUSA, Linguistik Indonesia, and Journal of Community Empowerment.
