Be a Global Citizen in the Disruptive Era:  Sahabat Atma Jaya siap untuk menjadi warga Global!

The term IISMA may already be familiar to Indonesian college students. IISMA, or known as Indonesian International Study Mobility Award, is a scholarship program from the government for college students to experience studying at top universities abroad for a period of one semester.

 

Various campuses in Indonesia have the opportunity to send their students to join this program, including UNIKA Atma Jaya. To share information related to the opportunity to study abroad for 1 semester, a virtual info session was held for students of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) UNIKA Atma Jaya. The Info Session was held on Friday, 28th January 2022. 

 

Opening Remarks by Dr. Irenius Bimo; Dean of Faculty of Economics and Business

 

The virtual info session was opened by Dr. Irenius Dwinanto Bimo as the Dean of the Atma Jaya Faculty of Economics and Business. In his speech, he conveyed the importance of international experience that students need to have, especially in the era of globalization that is currently happening. “Last year, UNIKA Atma Jaya succeeded in sending 6 students to take part in this activity and this is the time for Atma Jaya‘s FEB students to take part in this program. Make this a good moment for you to have an extraordinary experience,” said Mr. Bimo.

 

In this event, Ignatius Reyner Giovanni as the Mobility Coordinator of the International Office at UNIKA Atma Jaya is willing to be the speaker. In this virtual meeting, Ignatius Reyner or who is familiarly called Reyner conveyed information regarding the IISMA 2022 program which will be opened in the near future. In his presentation, Reyner pointed out several important requirements for students to know and underline: starting from the registration criteria, preparation of documents and supporting files, to the selection and departure timeline if selected.

 

In addition, Ignatius Reyner also explained the benefits of international experience for UNIKA Atma Jaya students. “As the Atma Jaya generation, we should think holistically and become complete citizens of the world. Don‘t wait for the right opportunity: create it! If we see an opportunity in this program, take it and use it (in a positive sense) to the fullest. So that in the future, we can contribute optimally to build our beloved country and also make our Alma Mater proud: Unika Atma Jaya.”

 

Furthermore, Reyner encouraged UNIKA Atma Jaya‘s FEB students to immediately prepare themselves to take part in this activity. A program that can provide benefits not only in the short term but also in the long term for those who follow the program as a whole.

“We from the International Office have also collaborated with the UPT Language Teaching Center (PPB) to organize English language training for students who register before February 10. This training is a form of assistance from the International Office in supporting your activities. Take advantage! Success is where preparation and opportunity meet, so let‘s be global folks!” closed Reyner.

This event was also attended by Mrs. Thia Margaretha Tarigan as Chair of the Accounting Study Program, Mrs. Fara Dharmaastuti as Chair of the Management Study Program, and Mrs. Ni Luh Gde Lydia Kusumadewi as secretary of the UNIKA Atma Jaya‘s Accounting Study Program.
