Atma Jaya conducted an interactive talkshow and mini sessions with the theme ‘Celebrate Indonesian Forest’ in Hall D Campus 1 Semanggi Atma Jaya, Friday (11/5). This event presented several speakers such as Ir. Helmi Basalamah, M.M (Head of BP2SDM Ministry of Environment and Forestry Indonesia), Leony Aurora (Chairman of Forest of Indonesia), Chandra Kirana (Member of KEHATI Foundation Board), and Ramon Y. Tungka (Actor)

 

 

The purpose of this activity was to present the description and facts about the existing forest wealth in Indonesia and to give understanding to the community about the role and function of the forest in supporting life.

 

According to Chandra Kirana, the existing wealth, especially forests, is not merely for consumtife purposes, but can be a form of identity for the wealth of the country itself.

 

Our wealth is not just for consumption alone, but it can be as an identity, because Indonesia is rich in natural products, Chandra Kirana said.

Therefore, it is expected that from this event, people can be motivated to take personal and collective actions to support the forest protection campaign in Indonesia.

 

 

According to Ramon Y. Tungka, there are many ways we can do to support the mini nature, by not using forest products such as plastic waste.

 

 

"Many of our ways of supporting nature can be by not using forest products such as plastic waste. Because nature is where we learn about the character and culture, "said Ramon Y. Tungka when exposing his opinion on the show "Celebrate Indonesian Forest ".
