Biography

Harry Seldadyo was born in Jakarta. He completed his undergraduate studies at IPB University, earned his master’s degree from the University of Indonesia and the International Institute of Social Studies (IISS) at Erasmus University in the Netherlands—both in Development Economics—and received his PhD in Political Economy from the University of Groningen, also in the Netherlands, with a dissertation titled Corruption and Governance around the World: An Empirical Investigation, published by Ipskamp B.V., Enschede, The Netherlands.

He has worked as an economist, technical advisor, and consultant for various national and international institutions, including the Asian Development Bank (ADB), British Council, Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), HIVOS, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and the World Bank, among others. His consultancy has also extended to provincial and district-level governments, as well as central government ministries.

His research encompasses issues in economic development, development governance, and sustainable development. His work has been published in numerous journals, including Kyklos, Papers in Regional Science, Pacific Economic Review, Global Economy Journal, Budapest International Research and Critics Institute-Journal, Bandung: Journal of Global South, and others. He has also contributed book chapters published by Pustaka Obor Indonesia, Kompas Media Nusantara, Taylor and Francis (forthcoming), and other publishers.

He currently teaches Economics of Development, Macroeconomics, and Sustainable Development at the Faculty of Economics and Business—now the Faculty of Business and Social Innovation—at Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia.
