Biography
Francisca Tjhay – Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia
I am Francisca Tjhay, MD, M.Biomed., Ph.D.—a medical doctor, lecturer, and reproductive health researcher committed to bridging scientific discovery with public well-being.
With a Ph.D. in Medical Science from Japan and decades of experience at the School of Medicine and Health Sciences - Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia, I integrate rigorous academic research with public education.
My work focuses on reproductive health, adolescent sexual education, cancer biology, and community empowerment—ranging from publishing research on ovarian cancer stem cells to speaking at schools and churches across Jakarta.
I do not just teach; I transform complex science into applicable knowledge.
Whether as a faculty member in the Department of Medical Biology, a lecturer, or an educator on reproductive health and sexually transmitted diseases, I bring clarity and scientific evidence.
Recognized through various awards in teaching and research, I strive to be a trusted resource in women’s reproductive health, adolescent reproductive health, and preventive medicine.
