Dr. Nia Sarinastiti, M.A.


Biography

Dr. Nia Sarinastiti MA, IAPR is a senior lecturer at the Atma Jaya Unika Communication Studies study program as the official homebase in 2009 when the Communication Studies study program opened. Since 1993 until now Dr. Nia teaches at the Postgraduate Communication Studies Program at the University of Indonesia, and since 2016 is the coordinator of the Accenture teaching team at the Faculty of Economics & Business, University of Indonesia. Between 2015-2017, he was an international class lecturer at the University of Indonesia undergraduate degree. In addition, Dr. Nia is a communications practitioner specializing in organizational communications, corporate communications and marketing communications with more than 30 years of work experience in: Accenture Development Partnerships Lead, Marketing & Communication Director, Accenture – Indonesia, Head of Communication & Relations Donggi Senoro LNG; World Bank Group, Mercurindo Cita Murni, and host of Tanah Merdeka – TVRI. Dr. Nia is a graduate of S1 – International Relations, Gadjah Mada University, Master of Arts from the School of Journal and Mass Communication - University of Colorado at Boulder, and S3 Postgraduate Program in Communication Science - University of Indonesia; obtained Indonesia Forestry Community scholarship (1990-92), Fulbright Research Grantee (2003) at the Department of Communication, University of Colorado at Boulder, and Post-Doctoral at the Center for the Digital Future, University of Southern California. Currently active in PERHUMAS, ASPIKOM, APJIKI, and Board Member at IBL, ISD, and IBCWE.

 

Education

Dr. Nia Sarinastiti menempuh pendidikan tinggi di bidang komunikasi, dimulai dengan meraih gelar Sarjana dari Universitas Gadjah Mada pada tahun 1989. Ia kemudian melanjutkan studinya ke University of Colorado at Boulder, di mana ia meraih gelar Magister pada tahun 1990. Puncak pendidikan akademiknya dicapai dengan memperoleh gelar Doktor dari Universitas Indonesia pada tahun 2004, fokus pada isu-isu terkini dalam komunikasi.

 

Expertise

Dr. Nia Sarinastiti pursued her higher education in the field of communication, starting with a Bachelor's degree from Gadjah Mada University in 1989. She then continued her studies at the University of Colorado at Boulder, where she earned her Master's degree in 1990. She reached the pinnacle of her academic journey by obtaining her Doctorate from the University of Indonesia in 2004, focusing on current issues in communication.

 

Teaching

Dr. Nia has extensive expertise in Organizational Communication, specializing in areas such as Computer Mediated Communication, Social Network Analysis, and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance). Additionally, she has experience in Corporate Communication and Marketing Communication, providing deep insights into how organizations interact with the public and market themselves.

Dr. Nia Sarinastiti is an academic focused on issues of communication, society, and digital marketing, with a particular emphasis on the impact of media and business strategies in the context of Indonesia. Through her recent publications, Dr. Nia has contributed deep insights into various social phenomena and consumer behavior.

 

In her publication titled "Implementation of Long-Term Community Service with Associations (A Study on the Indonesian Gastronomy Community)," Dr. Nia explores community service programs run by gastronomic communities in Indonesia, analyzing the impact and effectiveness of these initiatives on local communities.

 

Dr. Nia also investigates the relationship between remote work and mental health in her publication "Relations Of Remote Working to Mental Health." This research provides valuable insights into the psychological challenges faced by individuals due to the significant shift in work practices that occurred during the pandemic, as well as how this has affected mental well-being.

 

In the field of digital marketing, Dr. Nia's work titled "Strategy to Increase E-Customer Loyalty Through E-Customer Satisfaction in E-Commerce Business in Indonesia" highlights the importance of customer satisfaction in building e-customer loyalty. This research presents practical strategies that can be adopted by e-commerce businesses in Indonesia to enhance their relationships with customers.

 

Furthermore, in her publication "The Effects of Online Journalism Presidenri.Go.Id Towards Public Opinion in Vaccine System (Case: Acceptance of COVID-19 Vaccine)," Dr. Nia analyzes the influence of online journalism on public opinion, particularly regarding the acceptance of the COVID-19 vaccine. This research illustrates how information conveyed through digital platforms can shape societal perceptions of vaccination programs.

 

Dr. Nia also addresses significant issues in her publication "The Relationship Between Brands’ Usage and The Body Image of Young Indonesian Women," which explores how the use of certain brands can affect the body image of young Indonesian women. This research provides an in-depth view of the dynamics between marketing and self-perception among the youth.

 

With a strong background in social research and communication, Dr. Nia Sarinastiti continues to contribute to our understanding of the interactions between society, media, and business in Indonesia's dynamic context.
