Biography
Mrs. Yanti completed her undergraduate education at Unika Atma Jaya in 2000, followed by a master's degree at the same institution in 2004. She continued her studies at the University of Delaware, earning her second master's degree in 2006 and completing her doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in 2010. Mrs. Yanti's expertise lies in Language Documentation and Description, with a focus on analyzing and developing methods for documenting languages, enabling her to contribute to linguistic research and language education. As a lecturer, she teaches various courses, including Classroom Research, Current Research in Applied Linguistics, and Intro to English Linguistics, helping students understand fundamental concepts and applications of linguistics. As a researcher, Yanti, Ph.D., focuses on language and education with several important publications. In 2021, she published the work "The Typology of Applicative/Causative Marking in Tapus," and contributed to the SCOPIC project with the publication "Indonesian 'Family Problem' Stories for SCOPIC," exploring family issues within cultural narratives. In 2022, Yanti researched "Language Labeling and Ideology in Indonesia," examining the relationship between language labels and social ideology. She also explored online learning readiness among students through the research "Online Learning Readiness among Junior High School Students." Her latest work in 2023, "Language Attitudes, Shift, and Maintenance: A Case Study of Jakartan Chinese Indonesian," investigates language attitudes within the Jakarta Chinese community, demonstrating her dedication to understanding the dynamics of language and education in Indonesia.
