Dr. dr. Felicia Kurniawan, M.Kes.


Biography

Dr. Felicia Kurniawan completed her medical degree at Unika Atma Jaya in 1994 and earned her Master's in Health from the University of Indonesia in 2001. She is currently pursuing her doctoral program at Gadjah Mada University. With expertise in Public Health, particularly in Health Promotion, Dr. Felicia focuses on developing strategies to raise public awareness about health and disease prevention. As an educator, she teaches various subjects, including Andragogy, Biostatistics & Epidemiology, and Research Methodology, aimed at preparing students to understand and address public health issues. As a researcher and academic, Dr. Felicia Kurniawan has made significant contributions to issues related to nutrition, child health, and eating behavior. In her publication "Relationship between Parenting Style and Maternal Personal Hygiene with Children’s Personal Hygiene," she explores the influence of maternal parenting styles on children's hygiene in North Jakarta. Another study, "Relationship between the Risk of Eating Disorders and the Concentration Capacity of High School Students," examines the relationship between the risk of eating disorders and concentration levels among high school students. Dr. Felicia is also involved in nutrition education through her publication "Belajar Cepat Gizi, Nutrisi dan Aktivitas Fisik," and investigates healthy eating patterns in "Hubungan Konsumsi Buah dan Sayur terhadap Dugaan Infeksi Saluran Kemih." Through her dedication to health and nutrition research, she continues to contribute to the understanding and improvement of public health, particularly for children and adolescents.

 

Education

Dr. Felicia Kurniawan completed her medical degree at Unika Atma Jaya in 1994. She then pursued her Master's degree at the University of Indonesia, earning her M.Kes. in 2001, and is currently finishing her doctoral program at Gadjah Mada University.

Teaching

As an educator, Dr. Felicia teaches a variety of courses, including Andragogy, Biostatistics & Epidemiology, and Research Methodology & Scientific Writing. She also covers Humanities, Basic Biomedical Science, Medical Education, Preventive & Community Medicine, as well as several concepts in Pathology and Medicolegal studies. Additionally, she provides foundational knowledge in Medical Knowledge and the Urinary Tract System, along with courses in Public Health, all aimed at preparing students to understand and address public health issues.

This research provides valuable insights into the importance of healthy eating patterns in disease prevention.

 

Lastly, in her research titled "Menstrual Cycle Length and Dysmenorrhea in Female Adolescents Aged 9-18 Years," Dr. Felicia examines the relationship between menstrual cycle length and dysmenorrhea among female adolescents. This research aims to understand the health issues frequently faced by adolescent girls and how these issues can affect their quality of life.
